Three tips and some gadgets for Valentine's Day

Hmm, can you even remember how many admirers you had? Today is D-Day, because it's Valentine's Day. Those secret admirers will make themselves known. Or do you maybe think it’s a ridiculous day? With these tips, you will get something out of it anyway.
Let’s start with a little history.

Saint Valentine

The feast of St. Valentine was first established in 496 by Pope Gelasius I. At the time of Pope Gelasius no biographical information about St. Valentine was known, but the story goes that St. Valentine was named as one of those: "(...) whose names are justly reverenced among men, but whose acts are known only to God."[1]
Well, it’s definitely a bit of a fragile origin, but perhaps that is precisely the power of Valentine's Day: Something with a mysterious side, which makes it interesting as well.

Tip 1: Create tension

Sending someone anonymous cards or letters is still is the ultimate Valentine thought. Once unknown to me love struck Valentine stuck yellow memo notes with short messages all over my bike, at the garage door, and on my school bag. Wonderfully exciting and with each new note he became more and more like my dream prince. Until he decided to reveil himself.
What a disappointment.
Well, love of course is mutual, thus restore the paperwork and build up that excitement! Put a memo in a workbag, hide a note under a pillow, in a coffee mug, or send the best Valentine card you can find.

Tip 2: Make an effort

Frame that one photo taken when you just met each other, surprise him or her with a lunch, a spontaneous walk along the beach or a homemade dinner. And if you do not know each other that well yet: Flowers are always good to start. But, do not drive past that gas station on the way home for a wilted bunch of flowers in cheap transparent cellophane. Do something original - and nowadays it’s easily done with flowers as well. For example with this computerized flower box.

Tip 3: Relax

If you are revolted by the whole idea of, this commercialized day, then that’s completely understandable. Look at it positively though and relax. Make fun of it and run a contest, for example: Who can come up with the worst and cheapest Valentine's Day gift ever? Or just settle down, but in any case do it together, and snuggle yourselves behind this heart shaped container.

Sharing? Yes please!

Sharing is the very essence of Valentine’s Day! Do tell with which action / gift / gadget you used to win your valentine’s love, tweet the result on February 14, 2012 using the hashtag: #beste1402 and the best action will be rewarded with a real Lovpil. Who says the way to a man’s heart doesn’t lie through his stomach?

Happy Valentine’s Day!
